Saing Darareaksmey
Topic: Live Responsibly
Saing Darareaksmey was born in 1991 in Phnom Penh. A senior Law student at Pannasastra University of Cambodia, the President of Cambodian Mathematics Generation and a young Business Manager at ASKAP Gold Investment, Reaksmey has always been passionate about mathematics. He represented Cambodia in the Asian Pacific Mathematical Olympiad and International Mathematical Olympiad in Europe in 2008. This experience led him to write his first book, and has since published five more, all of which are intended to inspire younger generations to achieve their dreams. His work today is focused on legal rights, and in this spare time he shares his passion for mathematics with young Cambodians.

Rotha Chan

Rotha Chan, who was working as a cleaner for a private school in exchange for a free English class in Phnom Penh in late 1990s, is currently working as senior manager of Manulife, a Canada-based life insurance company in Cambodia. It was his commitment to education that enables him to escape the poverty net and become successful in both academic and career life.

Piroska Bisits Bullen
Topic: Using data to make decisions
Piroska Bisits Bullen is a public health specialist who is passionate about using data to design programs that work, and enjoys shutting down programs that don’t. Currently working for Cambodia Health Education & Media Service (CHEMS) and Cambodian HIV/AIDS and Care (CHEC), her previous projects include using Facebook to reach Cambodian men hooking up for man-on-man sex and creating a TV soap opera that taught the ins and outs of chicken raising. Piroska is originally from Sydney, Australia. She has recently completed a PhD in Public Health and also holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) with a specialty in Neuroscience.

Sovathana Nana
Topic: Seeing the good side of problems
Sovathana (better known as Nana) was born in 1986, in Kampong Cham province. From an impoverished family, Nana has been working since she was 14. Starting as an interpreter, her career highlights include work as a counselor, radio presenter and most recently as the president of a local youth volunteer organization. Today, she is the main source of income for her family, but she feels thankful to those responsibilities for shaping who she is today.

Steve Morrish
Topic: Building Rule of Law for the Next Generation
Steve Morrish is a former Australian police detective and founder of anti-trafficking NGO SISHA. Steve wants Cambodians to believe in their judicial system, and while he recognizes that establishing rule of law is difficult, he believes simple and inexpensive changes such as merit-based promotion can bring tangible improvements.

Marina Pok

Returning to Cambodia from France, in 2010, Marina Pok is an Associate Director at Leopard Capital, where she is responsible for the company’s environmental, social and good governance due diligence. Her aim is to develop a responsible business attitude in Cambodia, to preserve the Planet, the People and the Culture. Marina holds a master’s degree in sustainable development from the University of Paris Dauphine. She is fluent in French, Khmer, English and Japanese.

Loven Ramos
Topic: ARTrepreneurship!
Loven Ramos is a visual poet who had a rocky start with art. After being refused by his folks to study Fine Arts for practical purposes, he packed his bags after college and moved to Manila. He became an accidental ART-repreneur when he moved to Cambodia from the Philippines in 2005 where he began his journey as a graphic designer. He opened his first galleries, Poetry and ArtDeli in 2010; these were followed by ’1961′, Art Explo and ARTillery. Today, his projects combine art, creative writing, food, residence and performance space and his work navigates the thoughtful intersection between creativity and commerce.

Tep Livina
Topic: Inspiring Youths through Inspiring Education
When he was in high school, Tep Livina was just another gangster who did not care much about learning but playing around aimlessly. Yet, when he entered the Institute of Foreign Languages (IFL) in 2006 as a college student, he gradually changed his life and become one of the best students IFL has ever produced. In 2009, he honorably graduated as a valedictorian and was chosen to deliver the graduation speech to over 1000 graduates and distinguished guests present during the graduation ceremony. Nowadays, a master candidate in TESOL, he is running an educational company called EdNICHE offering many services including helping the students to learn English language more effectively and become outstanding students in their school.

John Lovejoy
Topic: Dream big… but follow through
Wanderlust, restless spirit, nomad, victim of the travel bug. Whatever you want to call it, John Lovejoy has had an irrepressible urge to go – to go see new places, meet new people, learn new cultures – for as long as he can remember. In 2006, he assembled a team, three plastic cars and plotted a course half way around the world. He called it Trabant Trek and many deemed the mission impossible from the start. The show premiered on Travel Channel in 2010, and since then he’s produced a second series, Wreck Trek, is set to air its first episode in mid-2012. He currently resides in Phnom Penh plotting his third series which aims to take vehicles running on nothing but veggie oil from Los Angeles to Panama City.

Christopher McCormick
Topic: Learning a language will change your life for good
As the head of language research, training and testing for EF Education First – the world’s largest language school – Dr. Christopher McCormick oversees the instructional design and delivery of EF’s language programs. His work focuses on online language learning, educational mobile applications, and digital media for accelerated language learning. His language abilities span English, Spanish and Russian, amongst others. Dr. McCormick holds a B.A. with honors in French and Russian from Tulane University, and a Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics from the University of Texas at Austin.

Growing up in the U.S. for over 35 years, Princess Norodom Soma is an accomplished journalist and writer. She returned to her homeland in 2010 to take care of her ailing father.
